Growing number of Rape Cases makes India a Rapestan
Rapestan is not a country for women.

With more than 127,800 Rape cases pending until the end of 2017, India’s 2nd Name Should be Rapestan. According to reports, India is a country which is also called Rapestan these days, Where 90 to 98 Women get raped every day. The more sad thing is that 99 per cent of the rape victims in India never get justice.

Rapestan is a term used for the countries with highest number of Rape Cases. India has earned the title of Rapestan after hundreds of thousands of rape cases (More than 300,000 Cases) reported in the country during the past few years.

According to the NCRB data, 4,15,786 rape cases were reported across India between 2001 and 2017. The more scary thing is that The conviction rate is not even 25 per cent. A rapist can get free after paying some money to the police or by using his influence.

Jan. 2018: An 8-year-old Muslim girl was drugged, held captive in a temple and sexually assaulted for six days before being strangled and battered to death with a stone in Kathua town in northern India.

According to Reuters, more than 128,000 rape cases were still pending in the courts until 2017 and the numbers grew even higher during the last 3 years. See the graphics, below.

The horror story in India continues with more scary numbers. According to NCRB, 338,594 crimes against women were reported in just 2016. 38,947 were rape cases from reported crimes against women in India. There are thousands of more cases of rapes from remote areas which were never reported to the police because of shame or social hurdles.

Some media analysts claim that rape cases are more common in lower communities of India. But recent data shows even Members of the national assembly and provincial assemblies were involved in rape cases. See the graphics, Below.

Citizens, however, raised their voice against growing numbers of rape cases in India and tried to prevent India from becoming Rapestan by demanding to reform strict punishments against the convicts of Rape and crimes against women. The country, however, is not a successful yet to create a fear of punishment for this horrible crime ‘Rape’.

In December 2019, Indian police shot dead four men who were suspected of raping and killing a 27-year-old veterinarian in the city of Hyderabad.

Dec. 2012 was another dark day in Rapestan when A 23-year-old student was beaten and gang-raped on a moving bus in the capital of India New Delhi. The innocent girl died later, of her injuries.

The crime sparked large-scale protests and led thousands of women across India to break their silence over sexual violence and rapes which often go unreported.
