A woman has been gang-raped in front of her own children after a roadside robbery in broad daylight in Lahore.
According to details, the tragic incident took place in Gujjarpura area of Lahore in which a woman had to stop on her way to Lahore from Gujranwala with her children. She had to stop at the roadside due to running out of petrol on the way.
Two unidentified persons broke the car window and pulled out the woman and her children and dragged them into the fields on the side of the road.
Unidentified persons snatched cash, jewelery, mobile phone and ATM cards from the woman, she was then gang-raped and culprits fled.
According to the FIR lodged at Gujjarpura police station, the woman returned from Kacha area with her children and then went to Gujjarpura police station with her family to register a case.
Police have launched a search operation for the accused with the help of Safe City cameras installed in Lahore after a case was registered by the victim’s relative under the provisions of gang rape and robbery.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar also took notice of the incident and demanded a report.
It may be recalled that this is not the first incident of rape within the limits of Gujjarpura police station. Two months ago, there was an incident of gang rape of 5 persons with a woman in this area.
