Jelena Noura Hadid is an American model. In November 2014, she made her debut in the Top 50 Models ranking at Models.com. In 2016, she was named International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council. Over the span of four years, Hadid has made thirty-five appearances on international Vogue magazine covers.
Hadid’s mother is a Palestinian-American and her father is a Dutch-born American.
Marielle and Alana, her paternal half-sisters, are her older sisters.
Her mother married music producer David Foster, with whom she has five stepsisters, after her parents separated.
Hadid has also appeared in films.
She made her film debut in the film Virgin Eyes, in which she played Andrea for the first time.
Hadid was discovered by Paul Marciano, of Guess clothing.
She began her career with Guess in 2011, and in 2012, she was appointed the face of a Guess campaign.
She signed with IMG Models in 2013 and debuted at New York Fashion Week in February 2014, walking in Desigual’s presentation.
In 2014, she appeared on the covers of Galore magazine and Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book.
She was featured in the Pirelli calendar in 2015.
Hadid’s sister, Bella Hadid, is also a model, and the two have appeared in modelling appearances together, including a picture shoot for V magazine in June 2015. Hadid’s covers have all been featured by Vogue
(United States, Paris, Italy, Britain, Japan, Spain, Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, China), Schön!, Numéro, Allure, W Magazine, Teen Vogue, and WSJ Magazine have all featured Hadid.
Hadid and her sister Bella kicked off the spring/summer advertising season together in 2017.
She parted ways with Zayn Malik in October 2021 after he had a falling out with her mother, Yolanda, though they agreed to co-parent their 13-month-old daughter, Khai Hadid Malik.
Prior to their breakup, Zayn Malik issued a message on Twitter in which he discussed their daughter and his desire to be a quiet person.
